The architecture of MetaBridge involves three key components: Theta Chain, Subchain, and Target Chain. These components work together to facilitate the relay of messages and assets between different blockchain networks. Additionally, the validators of the Subchain play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the network and are rewarded for their contributions.
Theta Chain: The Theta Chain forms the foundation of the MetaBridge architecture. It is the primary blockchain network that hosts the Theta Metachain, which focuses on video streaming and content delivery. Theta Chain incorporates its consensus mechanism and maintains its own set of validators responsible for securing the network. This chain serves as the base layer for the MetaBridge platform.
Subchain: The Subchain is an intermediary blockchain layer within the MetaBridge architecture. It acts as a bridge between Theta Chain and the Target Chain. The Subchain facilitates the communication and transfer of messages and assets between these two chains. It operates with its own set of validators who play a crucial role in validating transactions and ensuring the integrity of the relayed information.
Target Chain: The Target Chain refers to the external blockchain network that is being connected to Theta Chain through the MetaBridge platform. It could be any compatible blockchain, such as Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, or others. The Target Chain represents the blockchain where users want to send or receive assets from Theta Chain. MetaBridge acts as the intermediary layer, enabling the interoperability between Theta Chain and the Target Chain.
To relay messages and assets between Theta Chain and the Target Chain, the Subchain validators play a significant role. These validators are responsible for verifying and validating transactions that occur between the two chains. They ensure that the information being relayed is accurate and secure. In return for their validation services, the validators of the Subchain are rewarded with incentives or payments, which could be in the form of transaction fees or native tokens of the Subchain.
This architecture ensures that there is a reliable and secure mechanism for exchanging information and assets between Theta Chain and various other blockchain networks. It enables interoperability, expands the capabilities of Theta-based applications, and provides users with access to a broader range of services and opportunities within the blockchain ecosystem.
